How do I print one reciept for the whole transaction for a split tender transaction?
Example:
Total Due is $15.
The customer has $10 cash and would like the rest put on their card. I can print a reciept for each transaction, one for the $10 cash and one for the $5 on the credit card, but i cannot print one reciept that shows both transactions on the same reciept.
Is there a setting i can change to make this possible?

There is not a way to print a single receipt for split payments. The whole split payment flow could use a bit of cleaning up and it would be nice to have one receipt.

@VanKalkerFarms is correct here.
A receipt will be created for each tender used and will include the total amount of the sale and the form of tender applied.
How often do you run into this sitation? Our Product Team would be interested in reading more details.

We run into this fairly often, maybe once a week, because we buy used toys, sometimes for store credit, which sometimes doesnt cover a whole transaction.
I just feel like there should be an option for one receipt at the end of the transaction.
also, while i have your ear. for us, the gift receipt option makes more sense with the other receipt options (email, text, print) before the very end of the transaction.

2633 people looked at this so I would guess a lot of people run in to this...
I run into in seasonally. We run a business in a vacation area, and hotels comp customers with say $25 visa Gift cards. Since they are pre set at $25 sometimes people get 8 or 10 of these things. Most of the time they use one or two but the other week someone used like 8 of these gift cards for 1 transaction. I put in an Ideate for 1 Receipt for split tenders here : 1-receipt-for-Split-Tender-Transactions/idi-p/675431
I did not see any other Ideates for this when I searched the topic but then again it could have been phrased differently.
Anyone looking for this go give my link a Like or comment why this would be good for your business. the more that Like and comment the better chance we have of getting square to make it a feature.

I agree. The multiple receipts for split tender are confusing for both staff and customers. Customers automatically think they've been charged on all the receipts. We have to literally show show them the 'math' when they're at the cash as they think they've been charged the same amount multiple times.
It would be amazing to have one receipt showing each payment type breakdown. (We used to use ShopKeep and their POS did exactly that.)

Also on this topic, how do you print a gift receipt when there is a split tender. It doesn't allow you to?

Is there an option yet to print a receipt with split payments? I take split payments in store as well as through invoicing with payment plans. Payment plans are usually a minimum of 4 payments, and it doesn't make sense to have to print 4 separate receipts rather than one receipt that shows all 4 payments. If there's a way to do this, please let me know! Thank you!

Has there been any update on this? As a new Square Retail customer that came from shopkeep it amazes and worries me this logical feature (bug fix) request was submitted 5 years ago and yet still has not been fixed. There is no Square customer that would not benefit from having split tender receipts print on one single receipt with all payments shown in one place. It does not even make sense to have separate receipts for each payment. Please update us on this.

We would also liked to see one receipt for multiple payments. We do payment plans and split payments quite a bit and it would be nice to have it all showing on one receipt. The separate receipts is a bit confusing to customers at times because it only shows the payment made for that transaction and not overall.
