Payee pays invoice charge

Can the invoice setting change to have the payee pay for the invoice charge? They prefer to pay by card and it’s taking out of my profit

You can add the amount to your invoice as a service charge by creating a variable priced item and pricing it at the cost of the fees, but be aware that it may be illegal in your state to pass along the credit card/invoicing fees. Check with an attorney who is knowledgeable with this first.

Without being able to push the fees onto payees if you have sales taxes that you have to collect it creates a moving target and higher fees.  Simply raising the costs of your goods to offset the fees doesn't work.

Hello,

Can Square have a variable service charge depending on what payment method the customer chooses?

Ie. If the customer pays via credit card, we charge them 3%. If they pay via ACH, we do not charge them.

I currently only see that you enter a service charge at time of invoicing. Giving customers options for payments, can vary our fees.

Has anyone else experienced this and resolved it?

Regards
