When will we be able to have more detailed eGift Card reports. It would be helpful to be able to see a list of open eGift cards along with the recipient's name. I'd love to see the name of the person who bought the eGift card too, but I'll start with at least being able to see a list of open eGift Cards, remaining balance and the recipient's name.
I only been using the eGift card option for about 8 months and this lack of being able to easily access and see all the open eGift Cards is really frustrating. I know how to look up and see an individual eGift card if I know the last 4 digits of the card or have the sales date. But without that, there seems to be no way to see a list of open cards.
I've read other threads mentioning this problem dating back to 2017 and Square has responded by saying they are working on this issue over the next few quarters. When will this be addressed??

[This post was merged from the original thread titled: eGift Cards: A need for a report.]
I'm frustrated. There needs to be a report for eGift Cards. I need to be able to look up eGift Cards. As of right now, the only way that I can look up an eGift number is if the customer can find their receipt and I can find it by the purchase date. Once I find the transaction, I have to resend the eGift card to either the client or myself. This is clumsy. If I'm not in the office, my staff does not have access to this. I find this troubling. The report needs to include the following: eGift card amount, gift card redemption number, email to which is sent, date of purchase and purchaser.
SQUARE, any ETA????

Hey @SOMATherapeutic, I just noticed that another seller brought up a similar request. I went ahead and merged your posts together so that we can keep track of this issue. When you have the chance, can you let me know why having this information in a report is important for your business? I'd like to provide some additional context to our Point of Sale Team.

Hi Tom,
We are using the eGift Card feature for Fundraising purposes. We are a swim team that has an annual Lap-A-Thon and the swimmers are sending out the link to friends and family to buy eGift cards. The cummulative balance of the cards will be used to purchase raffle tickets at the Awards Banquet. We need a report that will provide the Receipents name and all cards purchased on their behalf so we can identify which swimmers have met their minimum fundraising requirement.
Our organization has enjoyed working with Square and have realized much benefit using your services, please forward this request to the developement team. Thank you.

Thank you for checking in with this, @raatreasurer. Hopefully, the workaround using the information on the Transactions tab helps for now. In addition, you might want to have a look at our partner apps to see if there's a more thorough solution readily available in the Accounting section of our App Marketplace.
Appreciate your patience and flexibility—I'll be sure to raise your post with the appropriate team members!

Welcome to the Seller Community and thanks for checking in on this, @Akocerha.
I went to check for any updates on this feature, but there aren't any developments that would offer the centralized visibility that you're looking for yet. So that I can share more insight with our Point of Sale Team, can you reply with a bit more information on why being able to see a list of open eGift Cards with remaining balance and recipient's name is important for your business?
It sounds like you may have already found the thread where the Product Manager for Gift Cards chimed in, but I wanted to surface here as we'll update that post with any new developments that come through: How Do I See More Detailed Gift Card Reports?
In addition, you can access some of this information from the Transactions tab (e.g. customer names and last four digits of the card). More information on that here: How do I get a list of gift cards sold?
