I am new so wanted to be my own first customer. What a costly mistake!! A transaction of > 1000 was duplicated. On the Square view, there is only one transaction

Sounds like their may be a pending hold by your bank.
Some banks do place a hold while we send a void notification. That can take up to 24 hours to fall off. If you have refunded the transaction to yourself, that can take 5-7 business days to go back to your account, again depending on the speed of your bank.
If only one transaction shows up in your Square account, you are seeing a pending hold by your card issuing bank.

My client claims her bank shows duplicate charges from her service a few days ago. My transaction report shows only one charge. Can squareup investigate or does she need to take it up with her bank? Thanks

Hey @michrenhair and welcome to the Community.
I moved your post to an existing thread for this question.
This is definitely something they'll need to contact their bank about but it typically drops off on it's own. As long as you're only seeing it once on your side it's all good!
