How to collect funds at a fundraiser with three different devices.

We have a fundraiser this week with a silent auction.  We want to collect funds through Square and have allocated three separate devices with Square Readers.  How can these devices be set up so the individuals handling the sales do not see all the reports and who all have paid?  A code was sent to each person with instructions to download Square to their device.

Hello @LKL1

Since it sounds like you have volunteers accepting payments on your behalf, I'd recommend checking out the Product Update Introducing Mobile Staff. This thread goes over how to setup a mobile staff account.

If you're looking for something else, please feel free to @ mention me. 🙂

Hi @LKL1

@Chad's suggestion can help you set up Square to limit access to sensitive back office info in Square.  There is now another option for keeping the account access limited and secure when working with staff and volunteers at a silent auction event.  This option is to use the Bidstation app to collect card on file and payments during the auction. (The Bidstation app is a product built in partnership with Square and my company, AuctionZoom)

This app is part of an charity auction solution and it let's you connect devices to capture card on file with Square in a way that doesn't require any employee setup and does not give the device user any access to the Square account that you don't want them to have.  They use a pairing code to connect and when you're done, you stop the code so that each device will be closed down and all data erased.

(I've attempted to insert a video that show how this works. hope it displays okay)

It's a useful option to keep your account private and secure while also picking up some great tools for running the event!
