As of now, the Online Store cannot require users to sign up for an account before making purchases. The closest workaround provided would be to make a Pop-Up encouraging users to make an account or subscribe to a newsletter which will capture their contact information in the process. Pop-ups are a great way to catch the attention of your visitors - use them to make an announcement, verify the age of website visitors, offer a coupon to new signups, or simply build up your mailing list.
