How do I automate salary payroll?

Hello!

I have an employee set up to receive "Salary" under the payroll settings, however when payroll runs each week they haven't been receiving their pay. Do they still have to clock in? (they haven't been anymore since we switched them to salary)

When you run payroll there is a screen where you import time cards. It should import their salaried hours (it does for me automatically). 

To make sure you have their weekly hours you're paying them for set up correctly go to payroll, team members and click on the team member you need to edit. Scroll down to compensation, and you should see the salary option under pay type. Next to that you should see annual salary, weekly hours, and hourly rate (hourly will be grayed out). Make sure you have your amount of hours entered into that weekly hours area. Once you do that it should automatically add them to their time card for the week and auto populate when you go to run payroll. 


They will still technically have to login if you have team management turned on and use passcodes. Just an FYI or they'll get asked about clocking in each time they go to ring someone out. Personally I just stay clocked in for the full 24 hour period, but it doesn't affect anything when I do payroll because that's ignored. For an actual employee you should make them clock out.
