I understand how to do a % and dollar discount which applies to all the items on an invoice.
Is there a way to exclude items on the invoice from that global discount?

Hey @kitora18!
Those instructions probably aren't the most updated. Once you have created the discount in the Online Dashboard, then you can follow these instructions to apply a discount to a line item in an Invoice:
- Add an item or enter a custom amount within the Invoice.
- Once added, select Customize, and then select which discount you would like to apply.
Note: Only fixed-percentage discounts can be applied to a single item at this time. You cannot apply dollar amount discounts to individual items.

Welcome to the Community and thank you for your post! I moved your post to a thread where other sellers have discussed this. Whenever we have more information from our Product Team, one of our Community Moderators will post a Product Update here.
When it comes to auto-discounts, they are only applied when the item is added to checkout. So you would have to manually apply it when utilizing Invoices.
Other sellers have expressed their need for this to be changed, so it will auto apply.
Also, I appreciate your insight on how you use the percentage discounts. This gives us real-time on information on how you use the system.

I am trying to manually add the discount per line and under the "Customize" drop down menu, there is no option for adding discount. I recently made an invoice and could add the discount but today there does not seem to be the option? What could have changed in the past few days?

Welcome to the Community.
Are you trying to add this invoice discount on an app or your Dashboard?
If you're using your Dashboard, there will be a blue "add discount" under the item totals for you to create/add a discount to it.
It would be similar on the app too. Go to Invoices > Create New Invoice > Add Item or Discount.
Please let me know if you're still having trouble finding that area. A screenshot of what you see would be extremely helpful in that case.

I am using the dashboard on my laptop. I tried to add the discount that way but it adds it to everything on the invoice. I want to just add it to particular items.

Ah I see. So you will want to create the discount first and add it to a specific item. That what it will only add it to that specific item on the invoice.

I have several discounts that I have made but only two of them show up at the time of sale for me to pick from. How do I activate and deactivate discounts?

Discounts should automatically show up. How are you trying to complete the sale? Are you using a POS, Virtual Terminal, Invoicing or the App?

I was just using the app like I usually do. I think I remember a couple years ago making just 2 out of my several discounts 'active' to keep it simple because those 2 were ones I usually used.
I can't get any discounts to pop up now because I tried editing my available discounts and now I can't access them at checkout! Dang!

Ok so now apparently only discounts with a percentage pop up. I cannot get it to let me choose a dollar amount or a variable amount

Are you looking to add a dollar discount to a line item at checkout? If so, only percentage discounts have this ability. Dollar discounts are only applicable to the whole sale.

Good morning - I have customers trying to apply coupon codes to their invoices and don't see a way to do that. Any thoughts other than reissuing invoice with a discount and voiding the coupon?

Once someone prepays for the service and I apply the discount will the customer get notified that the discount was applied?
