How can I delete a bunch of items at once?

I'm trying to delete an entire category of items. If I delete the category itself, the items will still stay in there I think. Is there a better way than deleting one item at a time? I have 125 to remove.

HI, you can select the items, click Bulk edit on far right, then select Delete.

What did you have to click to see "bulk edit"... I can't see it and can't figure out how to turn it on.
