Gift cards

Hi!

A local company is giving gift cards to their employees. They are going to print the cards using a card stock themselves. They will have a $25 dollar limit with no refund if they don’t use it all. Since their they are giving away hundreds, I need a way to:

1) have a button on payment for the payment.

2) be able to charge if the amount is over $25

3) keep track of all gift cards by number

Any help would be appreciated!

That's a complicated one as you are taking an outside payment and need to keep track.

you could make the payment as "other gift card or gift certificate" and it will ask you to input a note for the number.

so if the total is $20 you would ring up $20 on another and be done and keep the card as the balance is worthless.

if the total is $30 you would input $25 as other and then collect the remaining $5 as another payment type and keep the fully redeemed gift card.

How do I create a ‘other gift card’ payment option?

HI, not sure what you mean.  You can set up eGift Cards on your website.

Hi @Shrimpyramine

You'll need to use the Other Tender option for third-party gift cards.

You can find a bit more info about that here

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

HI, to understand, a company approached your business to purchase gift cards to give to their employees.  The business will make the cards.

The gift cards are YOUR cards.

The numbers are assigned to a card, either virtual ecard or physical card.

example, you can not ask Walmart for gift cards that you printed

Hopefully this Square Support page will help so you can order the cards.  Please know, due to delayed mail services, it may already be too late to order.

They are printing on card stock, not cards.
