Deactivating Square Card: Online instructions unclear
While attempting to deactivate my Square Card, I found it a bit confusing as there was no clear option in the Dashboard.
I followed all the instructions given in the FAQ and other threads in this forum I could find related to the card, but all that info seems to be out of date as it refers to links and functions that do not currently appear in the Dashboard options.
Finally I resorted to just selecting the "report lost or stolen" option, although I was not confident this was the way to go because that option stated I would be sent a replacement card (which is certainly not my objective here).
But I found that this was the solution after all. After deactivating my current card, it gave me the option to order a new one. Instead, I just closed the window.
So my personal situation has been resolved, but I suggest the options be reworded to make it more clear. (Though I doubt my suggestion won't get much attention, as I suspect the instructions are unclear on purpose in order to discourage people from deactivating their cards...)
