Custom Order

Most of my items are made to order, with pay first expected.  Is there a way to set this up in the dashboard.  It appears I have to give it an inventory amount, but I won't have inventory until the item is made... What are others doing in this scenario?  Do you just give it a huge amount in inventory so they can buy it?  I will set the delivery to pickup as I do not ship (local sales only at this point)

This has been an issue since 2018 and there is no resolution yet? 

I have a similar issue, custom orders and I have to pull them one by one to see each orders details. It'd be really awesome to be able to pull a customer order excel spreadsheet. With all my orders and the customization details, so I can complete them more efficiently.

I'm in the same boat - our bakery does custom cakes and I want to be able to price and manage those custom orders within Square. Otherwise its a pain to have a separate management tool - or I have to buy another cake business management software. Square should really be able to do this. Even if we just had a second 'online ordering' page that we could use that would have custom item options that only we have access to, and the general public would not have access to. I don't want someone trying to build their own cake online, it would be a total disaster.

Apparently, Square has no interest in addressing this issue since 2018, I'm also looking for this feature. Maybe I should switch to Shopify sales, and keep it all the same.
