What do I need to use to put in the sku section of the item to create a barcode that is printable and recognizable?

This is awfully complicated and exhausting if you let it... But don't do that.
There's a great little program called Barcode Producer. It's a little expensive. But it'll suit your needs... There are a lot of other ones out there, but Barcode Producer is the most intuitive and easy to use.

If you have a Dymo Labelwriter 450 the software that comes with it will allow you to create barcode labels and print them. You have to create each label but if you don't have very many to do it works well.

Great suggestions by @RHatch & @LocavoreStore as always 👍🏼
@countrylife We don’t officially support specific bar code or label printers and can’t guarantee compatibility, but I've seen quite a few customers have success with the Dymo 450 label printer that was mentioned earlier.
