Bug report - Excel export has "Stock Alert" as text not numbers
I'm not sure how to report a bug, but here goes.
When I export my stock to an excel spreadsheet, most columns are OK, but the "Stock Alert" is outputting numbers as text and not as numbers. This means we have to convert them to numbers before using them in any formulae.
Other columns (such as Current Quantity) are OK, so it's just a simple fix, I think.
Can you look into this?

Hey @alansh, thanks for flagging this!
I export my inventory as a test and it looks like there's currently two stock alert column - one is Stock Alert Enabled and one is Stock Alert Count. The Stock Alert Enabled indicate in text whether or not stock alert is turned on for the particular item, while the Stock Alert Count indicates the threshold an alert is sent out.
Are you seeing both column on your sheet? If possible, can you share a screenshot of what the export file looks like for you? It will help me look into this.

Tra,
This is what I get. As you can see the stock alert count is stored as text (left justified with a warning that a number is stored as text) whereas the quantity is stored as a number (right justified). It's not hard to change the spreadsheet, but it would be good if it could be exported in the right format to start with.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up @alansh!
The reason that particular column is being exported as text as not number is because it's used as an indicator of when the system should send out an alert, rather an actual stock/inventory count. I can definitely see it'd still be helpful to have that column export as numbers so I've raised this as a feature request to our team so they can look into this.

Tra,
It makes no sense at all having a number stored as text in a spreadsheet. What you do internally is fine, but I'd really like the spreadsheet to work for me.
Thanks for passing it on as a feature request. It should be an easy fix (I used to do this sort of thing for a living).
regards
Alan
