Appointment notes: Is there a way to request specific information when a client books online?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Appointment notes

 

In the appoinment note section when scheduling an appointment, is there a way to edit the gray text?  The default says "Add a note to your appointment..."  Can I change that to request specific information?  I have an auto detailing business, I'd like to ask for specifics about the vehicle in this section.

Welcome to the Seller Community, @DavidCunio, and thanks for bringing this up!

 

I see what you mean, when your client schedules an appointment from your booking site, they'll see the option to add notes on the final page. The default gray text in the note field isn't editable at this time, but I can see how being able to add more specific direction there would be helpful for a variety of different businesses.

 

I'll be sure to share your post with our Appointments Team as they're constantly working on improvements based on seller feedback. 

 

For now, you can edit your notifications from the online Square Dashboard by heading over to Appointments > Settings > Communications. You may want to look at your messaging options and see if there's an opportunity to request more vehicle specifics.

There is still no feature like this, it would be really helpful as a mechanic shop to be able to ask more details eg type of car and what they need. It seems like something that would make so much sense to have as right now it is so much extra work for the website us as we have to contact the customer again after they book.

I run a ride share company and I would like to have the customer add more detail before they schedule an appointment. The only options are first, last name, email and additional details note area. I would like to see the information in the customer file in that area since I've made custom entries on the customer file.
