AI cannot be worse than the idiots that have been elected to represent us through our government  -  seriously, take a close look at who is your representative - many have come in in under your radar - these elected people are not what our founding fathers had in mind.  Just my thoughts of course !!!

I think AI will help increase business efficiency and labor productivity.

I think when it comes to the technology people mixed up Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, which all work to some degree on statistics and forecasting modeling.

I am excited for the increased productivity AI can provide. However, I think it can lead to bad data as well. For example, our store did exceptionally well during the pandemic, as people were heading to the beach to get out and shop. If a company uses AI for inventory management, it may provide incorrect recommendations based on the data it has. I mean, Silicon Valley thought the pandemic technology bump would continue indefinitely and they kept hiring. Now they have to layoff employees as technology sales have slowed down with people going outside and enjoying the real world.

At this point, I would rather have more detailed reports that allow me to make informed decisions rather than "AI" telling me what it thinks.

I have been loving it! From making images on midjourney and discord to chatGPT helping with organizing outlines. Or Bing chat helping to look up information, it has been great!!! AI has done nothing but speed up tasks and give a helping hand. You can ask ChatGPT to check your article or content and it will give you an honest opinion of how you can improve it. lol It gives some good tips too! Let's fix this paragraph.

I just asked chatGPT to make that paragraph better and this is what it gave back...

I have been absolutely thrilled with the incredible capabilities of AI! From creating images on midjourney and discord, to ChatGBT helping me with organizing outlines, and Bing chat assisting with looking up information, the impact of AI has been nothing short of amazing. It has significantly sped up tasks and provided invaluable assistance. I can even ask ChatGBT to review my articles or content, and it provides honest opinions and helpful tips on how to improve them. It's truly impressive!

I also like it is being integrated into things like Canva and HubSpot. Sure I have concerns, but I think it is great that everyone is having access to the technology.

I have lots of hope for AI efficiencies in highly technical and research-oriented work. The speed of processing it could provide is mindboggling. I also love the idea of its ability to get tasks started, inspire creativity, and motivate when stuck.

Concerns mostly around error checking, how can we know the research is right, and how can we ensure it read the proper technical documents without double checking the work on a different platform using different structural thinking or again having humans in the middle. In a business context, I've already experienced the wrong answers given—logical, but the wrong context. I am also concerned about other business tasks, such as automated ordering, if it learns for itself it begins to make decisions based on the activity it sees. This could be good if parameters are correct but if not diligently watched it could be placing orders that have no market base, and the owner is stuck with more of a good than they can use or that will perish too soon. Technology is moving so quickly, my concern is for the wake we leave by pushing a technology that develops at a pace it decides rather than a pace that humanity can adjust and absorb.

Take care of yourself and, as life provides, someone else too.

  • What do you know about artificial intelligence? (Absolutely no right/wrong answer here!)

From what I have seen, AI can solve problems faster than a human mind can and can create something faster than humans.  They can do jobs faster, no breaks, and can do repetitive work without injuries.  I make different wooden signs and I am terrible at drawing.  I found a few AI programs online that can do certain drawings when I type in what I am looking for.  The results are not exactly what I want but get me ideas on how I want my project to look or a starting point.  Then if I come back later and change something the images seem to be the same as before, which is not what I want.  I cannot upload or tell AI you did great last time with this but now I want a new design with different features, or I am not using it correctly yet.

  • What do you think of the technology?

The problem I see with this Technology is that it leaves out the Human factors.  I just saw that a fast food place has its 1st chain store with no employees.  This will leave more people in search of a job.  Corporations like this can then rake in more profits, but who is earning the $$ to buy from them if every Restaurant has no employees just AI stations to order from and no human contact with wait staff?  Can this technology be useful?  Yes maybe it can assist with Human interactions so everything is the same, or to diagnose a problem quicker.  All I see with AI is either things where the people become lazy and not educated because everything is done for them. Think of the movie Wall-e where the computers and AI did everything and wanted to keep people in space.  Or are we starting the where Robots start thinking that they are better than the human race and we end up like I-Robot or the later Matrix movies where AI evolved and attacked people.  Guess it depends on the capabilities of the AI and how much we as the human race allows the AI to do.

  • What are you excited about regarding AI? What are your worries and hesitation?

I am excited about how quick I can have a picture drawn by AI of an Idea that I think of and be able to help visualize this idea in 3d quicker and with little cad knowledge.  I also would be excited to use AI for a replacement for Doctors.  Like I have these problems, are there any natural over the counter herbs or remedies to help me without have to take a chemical prescription or shot etc.  Hesitation comes in if the AI thinks that the human race is weak with these types of colds and learns our weaknesses to make the human race extinct or slaves to the AI.

Now as with AI in its infancy, and we are just making simple AI requests this could be a good thing to assist people.  Like the Wright Brothers doing the first flight and barely able to fly, we are now able to fly all around the world at speeds faster than sound.  Will AI be good or bad is the question and how we use it and leave it progress is the question.

I just read where someone used AI Chat Bot to give an reply that was very well written to basically say No in like 20 paragraphs.  This was because the person asked someone to design and give a price quote but then loved the design and did not want to pay for the work to be done by this individual.  Basically they wanted to by the art work to have a bigger company do the work cheaper.  What would you expect from local government.  Anyway I was impressed by the wording and the professionalism of the AI's response and in that case I could see the benefits of AI.

I have just started reading up on AI.
One question, I have facebook messages connected to square and when we get a question, is it Square giving a suggested response? Is that like AI? If it is it needs some work because some of the responses it gives is sorta off base. For example a customer bought an item 6 months ago and just recently decided they wanted to return it. It was way out of our return window, but the suggested response was sure you can return it.

In AI would we need to like like our return policy, shipping policy….etc? Forgive my ignorance It is a lot to take in and read.

I love AI - I think it is the next way to automate tasks and optimize time. I think of AI as Zapier (automations), Chat GPT, and kiosks. There are so many Kiosks locally at banks and restaurants now, this next level of automation is just naturally forming. I do worry for those who have jobs that are essentially phasing out due to automation.

As a business that is extremely people focused that comes from our own convictions to be people focused; Ai is not something we are too thrilled about.

If we are at a grocery store and there is self check out- we go to the actual human checker instead.

We value human connection and story telling that no robot could provide.

however, we know there are different levels of Ai and it can become a great tool to serve our community.

We would love to know what square has in the works!

Q.) What do I think of technology?

A.) To me I think technology has gotten to be the takeover of the world. It's truly sad when kid's or even some adults now days does not pick up a newspaper to read it or pick up a magazine. If they can not find it on there phone they say forget it.

For me I think it can help in certain areas of operations or help keep track of daily lists as it learns. AI needs rules and laws if it is going to be made into daily life. When you have Elon Musk talking about his creations it really scares me that a crazy evil overlord can have control over this stuff.

I'm increasingly becoming frustrated by not dealing with real people. It's not relational at all. As promising as some of the AI technology is for certain aspects of business, from a customer service point of view, I already see the downshift in quality of relationship and connection between customers and businesses. The best part about my interactions with a product or a business, usually aren't the product or the business itself - it's the interaction with the people and how they made me FEEL. A good product with crappy service, makes a person feel bad and frustrated and less likely to come back no matter how good the product is. A great product and even a mediocre product with great service, makes a person feel good, and they are likely to come back. Likewise, a not so great product where the service to address the failure is spectacular, is likley to leave the person feeling good about it. AI cannot deliver that interaction that only comes from human connection.

I think it was about to happen, since programming of computers started there were signs of their fast development the most obvious was the automation in manufacturing and reduction of labour/ manual handling in the workforce. I am sure AI has been growing in the background, facial recognition is in many places - without our consent- unfortunately. We like to make our lives easier, the idea of a robot making our lives easier has been admired for many years. It is now obvious AI has grown so fast that it can be scary if it is not used properly, safely and with our core values in mind - can it be regulated to support our values? is it too late to do that ?

Hi, I have a little knowledge with AI and have been using it to code various tools to use in my business. I am currently working on a customer counter and also an integrated weather GUI to collect, gather and analyze weather forecasts from multiple sources. I have found AI to be a useful tool in assisting me and it have cut the time in at least half on various projects. My next use of AI once my current projects are completed will be to see how AI can assist in marketing, forecasting and general administration of running my business.

I am only a small business making coffee and already finding it a great help!

I love this question! I have been using AI for the mental health benefits for 3 years or so. I think it's a great way to augment our everyday lives. I don't use it at work, aside from whatever Square and Spotify use, but it has been nothing but a benefit to my life.

I need to look into the technology more as I have only played around with it to wright short stories for fun but I am wary of giving it too much control over my stuff. I have read the stories of it going rogue and having to be shut down. I don’t know if I trust it to interact with my customers on it’s own or have too much control.
