We’re excited to announce the release of team member setup via SMS invitation!
Previously, you could only invite your team members by email– team members could not directly interact with our Team app or the dashboard without accepting that email invitation. The new release improves the team member onboarding flow by enabling invitations to Team members via their phone number, making it more accessible for team members to get up and running into the Square ecosystem during onboarding. You will need to input either email or phone number at team member creation and an invite will be sent to the team member through all access methods you denote.
This update will be available to all Square sellers and anyone today who goes into create team members will be able to access this feature. The only exception is if you are creating team members for Payroll, phone number invitations will not yet be available.
