New: Custom Fields now available on Recurring “Collect a Payment” links

Hello Square Sellers!

 

Square Online Checkout “Collect a Payment” links allow you to offer memberships and subscriptions for your items, services and donations. If your subscription has fulfilment needs such as collecting the buyer’s shipping address or maybe their grind preference for a coffee subscription, there are now two custom fields available for your use. 

 

How it works

You start by choosing to create a recurring “Collect a Payment” link (e.g. choose any frequency except “One-time”) via Online Checkout. On the pop-up under the “Advanced Settings”, there is a “Add Custom Fields” option. Click the plus sign to create a new custom field (you may create up to two custom fields). 

 

Whatever you put in the “Custom Field Title” will appear on the checkout link with an open-ended text box for the buyer to include their responses. The buyer’s answers will appear in the order that will appear in Order Manager.

 

You can use these two custom fields to collect whatever information you need from the buyer. Need to collect their shipping address? Coffee grind preference? Other preferences? It’s up to you!

 

How to get started

There is nothing you need to do to enable this feature! All “Collect A Payment” recurring payment links will have the custom field options under “Advanced Settings” when you are first creating them.
