[Improvement] Manager approval workflow now available on Square Team app and Square Dashboard app

Managers and team members who have the permissions are now able to review, approve and decline team member rosters, timecards and availability requests directly in the Square Team app and Square Dashboard app. This includes the following workflows (or a subset of them, depending on the managerโ€™s permissions):

  1. Timecard edit requests
  2. Shift cover requests
  3. Shift swap requests
  4. Open shift requests
  5. Time-off requests

 

Previously, managers could only review and approve/decline timecard requests on Dashboard web, making it difficult to review these requests on-the-go. With the launch of this workflow in Square Team app and Square Dashboard app, managers can now do so conveniently with a tap on their phone.

 

How do I use this feature?

To use this feature, ensure your โ€˜Managerโ€™ or equivalent team members have the permission in the Square Team list and that those team members download the Square Team app or Square Dashboard app. In addition, make sure youโ€™re using the latest version of Square Team App (v6.23) and Square Dashboard App (6.53) to access mobile manager approvals.

 

Once team members request for time off or a shift cover request, managers should get a push notification on their app to review the request. Alternatively, you can also access the request by opening the app and clicking the bell icon to access the notification centre.

 

To configure settings so your team can approve/decline availability or timecard requests, go to Permissions and ensure they have โ€˜Manage timecard reportsโ€™ and โ€˜Manage schedulesโ€™ checked.
