We’re excited to announce you now have the ability to accept Cash App Pay as a method of payment on both Square Point of Sale and Square Online. This payment method is in addition to all other major credit cards and Apple Pay/Google Pay, allowing you to never miss another sale from a customer.

You can now accept payments from 70M Cash App customers with Square Online or Square Point of Sale. Customers can now use Cash App to pay on your Square Online site or at your Square Point of Sale.
Why accept Cash App Pay ?
By accepting Cash App Pay you’re providing additional payment flexibility to millions of Cash App users to reduce checkout friction and grow your sales, while facilitating contactless in-person payments from your POS.
Cash App Pay is protected by Square’s managed payment platform, including end-to-end payment security and authentication, dispute and chargeback management, and Cash App takes on 100% of fraud liability.
How do I start or stop accepting Cash App Pay on Square Online purchases?
Square Online
Cash App Pay has been automatically enabled on your Square Online site.
To stop accepting Cash App Pay:
- In your Square Online Overview page go to Settings
- Click on Checkout or Shared Settings Checkout.
- Under Cash App, toggle on or off Accept Cash App Pay.
Square Point of Sale:
Cash App Pay has been automatically enabled on your Square Point of Sale.
To stop accepting Cash App Pay:
- In Square Point of Sale click on Settings
- Payment Types
- Toggle on or off Pay with Cash App Pay.
How do I let my customers know they can pay with Cash App?
- In-store: For Square Point of Sale sellers, Cash App Pay signage is coming your way soon. This kit features stickers and and other marketing assets you can place near your point of sale to let customers know you accept Cash App Pay
- Online: Send your customers an email or post on social media to let them know you now accept Cash App Pay and to drive more sales.
How does Cash App Pay appear in reporting?
All payments completed via Cash App Pay will be reflected as the Cash App tender type in your sales reports. Cash App payments will appear in reports found through your online Square Dashboard and the mobile Reports applet. Using Cash App for your business is not required to accept Cash App Pay.

What processing fees are associated with Cash App Pay?
There’s no complicated pricing to process Cash App Pay — just our standard, transparent processing rate of 2.6% + 10c (card present) or 2.9% + 30c (card not present). If you have a custom processing rate on your Square Account, you will continue to process Cash App payments at that rate.

How do refunds work with Cash App Pay?
Any refunds for payments that were completed via Cash App Pay will be refunded to the customer’s Cash App account directly, and not to a customer’s card on file.
