We’re excited to announce that we’ve launched an updated version of reopen checks in Square for Restaurants!
What does this mean? Starting today, you're able to reopen a check, make adjustments, and checkout, all while retaining the original payment method. We know mistakes happen, and now with reopen, you don’t have to worry, you can deal with any changes seamlessly, behind the scenes.
If you’re already subscribed to Square for Restaurants, you’ll need to enable this feature; head to your Square Dashboard, navigate to Points of Sale, Service Settings, and Reopen Checks. You’ll now have the option to reopen checks and keep the payment method, or refund your customer.
Moving forward, when you sign up for Square for Restaurants, keeping the payment method will be your default, but you can always adjust from your Service Settings.
Note: To fully settle all transactions and view those transactions on dashboard, including cash payments, please run close of day at the end of the night. If you forget to do this, no worries - all payments will automatically settle at 36 hours.
