We’re excited to announce the launch of the Square KDS, a kitchen display system that connects with Square for Restaurants POS, Square Point of Sale, Square Online, and our online ordering and delivery partners. It is available as part of the Square for Restaurants Plus subscription. Yes, Square for Restaurants is now available in Canada !
Important Setup Notes for Square KDS
- The Square KDS app is only available on iPad devices with iOS 13+.
- Square KDS requires an internet connection to receive tickets.
- Order tickets sent to Square KDS can also be printed from the Point of Sale if you need a physical copy.
Current Limitations with Square KDS
When an Open Ticket/Check is sent from Square Register to the KDS and then split, a duplicate ticket will appear on the KDS. If you split Open Checks we suggest that you wait to use Square KDS until we have an update. This is a temporary limitation and an update for this is coming soon.
