Hello @Jumpriver

I see this is your first post in the Seller Community and would like to officially welcome you!

While I cannot tell you which barcode scanner is the best, since I haven't personally tried them, I will leave you with our compatibility page, where you can find all the scanners you can use with your hardware.

I will also be tagging some of our Retail experts, who have probably gone through many barcode scanners and can make informed recommendations.

Thank you.

@Jumpriver We use the Symbol USB barcode scanners with our square stands. I see they are compatible with Android as well.

I have read in the Community that the USB barcode scanners tend to be more reliable than the Bluetooth ones.
I hope that helps. Let us know what you went with and how it goes.

Thanks for your help. We will have to use the USB anyway because our card reader is Bluetooth.

@Jumpriverwe use a Symbol LS2208 barcode scanner, but it's attached to our Square Register, so I can't vouch personally if it's Android compatible. I'd suspect so, but I can't say for certain.

@Jumpriver ;

I just saw this post, so sorry I am behind on this.  Does your Android Tablet have a USB port?  If not you would not be able to use a USB Scanner unless you got an adapter.  Now the issue with adapters are some work and some do not.  I have no idea which adapter to recommend for you as I have not used a Barcode scanner with my Android devices.  As the others mentioned the Register and Stand come with a Square designed USB block that connects to these devices to allow users to use USB accessories with the Register and Stand.  You might have to look for a compatible Bluetooth Scanner.  Bluetooth can connect to multiple devices at one time if they are perceived by the host as for different things.  Meaning my Ipad can connect to my Bluetooth reader and a Speaker to play music, but I cannot connect 2 bluetooth speakers to my Ipad or my android tablet.

I use a Socket Mobile model# S700 for all my Bluetooth barcode scanners. Seems to connect to every thing including my laptops, tablets, phones, etc. been using them probably 3+ years now and haven’t had any issues.
