@MayJune ;
There is a very small minimum you need for a Square transaction for a Credit Card sale, and that is $1.00 us. Now as I pointed out in other posts, some retailers set their own minimum for Credit Card transactions because of the cost associated with the fees. For example if you have a $1 credit card transaction and the 2.6% fee plus 0.10 would be 12.6 cents on that transaction or 12.6% fee not the advertised 2.6%. Just keep that in mind. So you would have to do your own type of math to see if You as the business owner may want to set a minimum Credit Card amount for a sale, something at about a $5 sale gets you close to the 2.6% fee including the .10. $5 x2.6%+.10 would equal about a Square total fee of 23 cents or about 4.6% overall charge by Square. At a $10 charge and the same 2.6% and .10 fee you would be closer to an effective rate of 3.6% or a 36 cent charge for Fees. The more you charge on one transaction the lower your effective rate would be for Squares Fee overall. This is true with most Credit Card Processors.
