I am attempting to migrate the square app to my new device. It is a newer version of the same phone that was running the app just fine. I looked at the requirements and my new device has everything I need to support the square app. But when I go to the play store it says my app is not compatable with the app. What the heck? I have a mega samsung-sgh-1527.

I don't see that model on the Square Compatability page.  It could be that your phone was compatible and you have an old version of Square running.  It is now not compatible there for you cannot download the app.
