W9 for independent contractors?

Hi there! If we add an independet contractor via Square Payroll, and they enter their SSN via this template, do we also need to get a W-9 from them?

Hey @healingrealms!

Square doesn't provide W-9's for employers, as we have the contractors fill out their own info when they're invited to Payroll and Square will file their 1099-Misc Forms. If you'd like to keep a W-9 on file for your contractors, you would want to do that independently of Square.
