I have yet to receive a reply that makes sense about why Square would buy the Weebly website builder and then not support it with POS sales. I built my website years ago using Weebly and really have no interest in reinventing the wheel and building a whole new site using the Square website builder. It's clunky and restricting. Most of my sales are in person at fairs and a winter market and those sales are not reflected on my Weebly website, which means I have to make note of which item sold (all are one-off) so when I get back home I can mark them as sold on my Weebly website.
Again, why buy up Weebly if it's not supported fully???? If I have to totally recreate my website I'll choose another builder whose reviews top the list, which is definitely not Square and isn't found on anyone's list.
AND, when someone goes to my website the first thing in the URL indicates the site in not 'Not Secure'. What's up with that???
So frustrated.

@maineaprons I understand your frustration. I had used another site builder prior to square fixing having different brands under one account. I couldn't deal with having 1 catalog shared by multiple different websites.
Ultimately, I took the plunge and did do a new site and started over. In my experience, it was well worth it. The integration is so much tighter now that it used to be. Based on what you said about your sales, it would probably be the same for you. What I would recommend, try out the free version and do the basic site, and get your items online. Yes it is more template based, but it does have the ability to customize more than some people think. But if this is only a small part of your sales, then it will make up for the time keeping 2 inventories synced.
I do want to say, it would be great if it just worked the way you describe, and I don't know the answers on Weebly acquisition, but I do know that you have the opportunity to profit and save more time if you give it a shot. This is just my opinion, but I have faced that same frustration and made the leap and let go of the reticence to change.
Hope this gives you some insight or ideas!
Best wishes,
