Square does not care about User experience

Received an email this morning telling me that Square will force the "updated" square app on me as from 8 November.

 

I only use Square from my phone and Square insists on wasting multiple lines in the Library with Gift cards, Rewards etc. I'm a volunteer for a charity and my Square reader is used to gather donations. Dozens of very small transactions so time is very important. I've been able to limit the damage caused by Square by refusing to "upgrade" to the new app but that is over come 8 November.  I don't have time at this minute but when I do I'll search for an alternative payments processor.

Thanks for getting in touch with this suggestion! 

 

I understand your frustration, but need to highlight that while feature requests are being considered when it comes to changes to our app, we can't guarantee that the suggestions you make will be implemented. 

 

This isn't because we don't care about the adjustments you suggest, but rather that the high volume of requests we receive means that we can't accommodate them all. Multiple factors, such as how many customers are asking for a change, the cost of implementation and other features in development are considered - just to name a few! 

 

In the meantime, you can consider using the Favourites tab in our new app layout to add your frequently used items for quicker access.
