We have been getting a lot of confused customers due to the language on the website, and it looks like Square will have to change it. When we have a modifier with a maximum number of two options customers may select, the website states "Select 2" instead of "Select up to 2". Customers have been selecting two options even though they do not necessarily want two options because it literally says "Select 2". Can we get that language changed to read "Select up to #" based on the maximum number selected?
See the screenshot of what we have selected in Square Online:
See the screenshot of what the customer sees:
To assist with this, we have added "select up to 2 flavors" in our description, but it would be much more feasible if the stock language had the "up to" part. If they do not scroll over to see that 1 is required, they will only see "Select 2" and MANY have been selecting "No butter" and then their desired butter flavor when they could have just selected their desired butter flavor without the second option. This has been causing confusion for the customer and our kitchen staff because when customers come to pick up their orders we find that they either really wanted no butter and felt that they had to pick something -or- they selected no butter and really wanted butter but (again) felt they had to pick something else because it reads, Select 2.
One other issue is reporting. Our butter flavors are not reported accurately because customers are choosing two but really only wanting one, so we have these high numbers of one flavor in our report but the inventory does not match it (since they didn't actually want the second option).

Hey @Titne
This is a really good point, and I definitely agree that this could do with that change!
A question & option in the meantime - if No Butter is an option, is there a reason you don't make the whole question optional, with a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 2?

We originally had that and too many customers were not making a selection at all then changing their minds saying that they actually did want butter in store. Unfortunately, that also doesn’t really solve the “Select 2” issue, as that is connected to the maximum rather than the minimum of 1 or 0.

Ah, that definitely makes sense.
For sure - it was more of an additional question/suggestion than a solution to that issue.
It would add “(Optional)” to it though which might(?) help though.
