Question on Appointments calendar — How do I customize my availability?

The title of this thread was updated from its original title: “Questions on calendar”

 

Hi everyone! If someone can please assist. I was wondering if there is an option in square to add exceptions for example I am normally closed let’s day Thursdays. But I want to be open a few thursdays. Is there a way I can open up a specific date in the appointment square app? Thank you

Hello @Sparkld_NL! I think you're looking for the Customize Availability feature, which you'll find in the Calendar tab of your Appointments Dashboard:

 

 

Click Customize Availability and from the next screen you'll be able to adjust your business hours for a specific date or dates in future.

I see that I can customize my availability for a week. But I want to define my default start/end hours for each day permanently vs customize theb "default" each week. I offer hours outside of my normal work day. So Mon-Fri, 6pm-9pm. How can I set up Square to only ever offer hours in that range even if there are opening on my "day job" calendar 8am-6pm?

Hello @mdl!

 

I'd love to help out, but I have a couple of questions first. Do clients ever book during your "day job" hours? Also do you have two different groups of clients that you serve? 

 

If your day job is referring to a business outside of Square, you could set your business hours from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. That way clients could only book this time slot.

This is my question too, is there a way to lock in your customized hours so you don't have to customize them weekly?

Hi @UniqueMBH! There is a way to do this!

 

On the home screen of your Online Square Dashboard, you'll click Account & Settings. Next, you'll navigate to the Locations tab that is nested under the Business section.

 

If you scroll to the very bottom of the page you'll see a section that has your business hours listed. Whatever changes you make to your business hours, also reflects your appointment availability. 

 

If you change your business hours to be 3pm-5pm on Monday, then every Monday in your calendar will show 3pm-5pm.
