I’m working through email with a customer who is asking me to process his credit card outside of Square instead of the invoice I sent, claiming his card doesn’t work with the service. I know that’s a major red flag but he’s persistent, making the claim over and over. I told him there’s no reason Square wouldn’t take his card as long as it’s legitimate. But he insists and is now offering to mail me a check.
Is there any possible way that his claims could be true?

Hi there, @Momminia1 👋 Good to hear from you! Thanks for bringing your question here to the Seller Community.
You are right to consider this a red flag. We often see many buyer fraud situations begin just like this. Square accepts all types of payments, and I have never seen a specific card be blocked from using Square services.
Unfortunately, there isn't a way for us to confirm the customers previous purchases through Square. If you decide to continue with their purchase, we would recommend cashing the check before items are shipped - just to be safe.
