Point of Sale App: not liking Sales Report changes
I'm the owner of a pretty busy bar. We currently have three shifts; morning (9am-noon), day (noon-6pm), and night (6pm-2am). We run one device and cash drawer at a time. At the end of each shift, the bartender closes the Cash Drawer (pulls it out to be replaced by a new cash drawer) and runs and prints a customized Sales Report to show net sales for the shift. Previously, obtaining the report consisted of going to "Report", "Sales", then customize indicated by the sliders icon. The previous reports would be listed below with the most recent report "End" time being the "Start" of the next. This was incredibly helpful as very rarely did a shift end promptly at noon, 6pm, or even 2am. (We would settle all credit cards per that shift to account for the cash, credit cards, tips, gift cards etc during the shift.) The "End" time would automatically be the current time. Again very helpful so there is a seamless start/end to the changing shifts. For example morning shift doesn't finish closing credit cards until 12:04, then runs a report at 12;05. Next shift would automatically start at 12:05 etc.
All of these defaults changed yesterday 8/8/2019. Now going to "Reports", "Sales", you see the sales for the day with the option of looking at 1 week, 1 month, 3 month, and 1 year with a simple click. This isn't something I want so easily displayed to our employees, let alone our customers. (Our iPad sits behind the bar and faces out toward customers.) When selecting "customize" there is a calendar with "All Day" being selected on by default. Unselecting this now pulls up the option to change "Start" and "End" with the default times being 8am and 6pm.
Without the previous report times being displayed, the bartender now needs to make a note of end time of the previous shift and start time for the next, as well as having to put in times and dates (since we are open past midnight). When printing "show items" now is selected by default as well, something we don't want in our reports as it goes through a ton of paper. This too has to be unselected. Though this all may not seem like much to ask, it is a big ask for a busy shift change when the customer should be the focus, not tediously and carefully selecting this and that.
Please change it back.

Sorry this change has been frustrating for you. We're looking into other solutions or ways that might be able to customize this report to the way it was previously. If you are using the iPad have you checked out the Dashboard App? It may be able to better host this data for you and be able to keep it active.
I wasn't aware we made this big of a change to reporting, so give us a bit of time to research this for you and pass this information to the product team.
