Phising was almost convincing but concerning

Hi, Just wanted to tag this one in--They even have the missing caps in my name correct, exactly as it is in my Square account., its concerning when I seen the Name with the typing error as it is on my acct, thats means they were able to dig for it.  I did send to 'spoof' but I wanted to post here so the community was aware to watch for, the links in the email go to     links.squareupmessaging.com    and i do not currently have any invoices out oe awaiting payment, and my first invoice (which this email says its for) was Years ago.

The email address that sent it was  Square Invoices  <noreply@messaging.squareup.com>

Hi all! 👋 Thank you for flagging this in the Seller Community. I was able to confirm that these emails were sent erroneously from Square, but no new emails like this will be sent out as our teams identified and stopped the email campaign. Sorry for the confusion, folks!

I haven't used this account in over 2 years. The email says that an invoice paid and to collect funds but when I log in it shows no activity no balance. I was owed money from a previous client and was hoping they paid. Why would I receive this email if there was no invoice paid?

I believe it’s a marketing email from Square Invoicing. I got the same one and I don’t invoice. I noticed I also got one a few days ago that was regarding a paid invoice that showed an invoice amount but had a disclaimer that it was an example and not an actual invoice related to my business

I got an email from Square invoice saying that I had a balance in my account and that I needed to attach it to my bank account. I didn't open any of the links, because I thought it my by spam. I also checked my account, and I don't see a place where an invoice balance would be. Is there a way to check this?

@I got the same type of email, and I haven’t sent an invoice in years too. I actually think this one might have really been from square, just an error in timing?

I have received this same email. I have been with Square for years, so not my first invoice AND I didn't have any invoices paid on the day in question.  Is this a mistake or Phishing?

I got the same email during the night. My first invoice was years ago too, and I know I have no untransfered funds. Because it's asking me to provide my bank information, I refuse to click on any links in this email. I came here to see if anyone else got it.

i invoice every sunday i have had several invoices paid on sunday but the money isnt showing up in my balance as it usually does so i can foward to my bank. I email support on sunday monday and today tuesday with no response theres no phone number i can call and meanwhile my customers paid there bills but i have no access to my funds why????

If they pay late Sunday evening/night (usually after your business close hours you have in your settings) the funds will be added to your Monday sales for deposit Monday night/Tuesday morning.

the best was to confirm if email is real or phishing is by checking the sender of the email always check if it is @squareup.com
