PCI Compliant

My previous CC processing company required that I be PCI compliant. I received this message

"It is coming close to that time of year for you to report on your compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). You will need to re-confirm your compliance by 02/26/2022."

Does Square have this requirement or is this a general requirement to use CC processing?
