OVERPAID INVOICE

I overpaid on an invoice. The merchant won’t refund the excess. What should I do?

Hi Ssharma,

 

Sorry to hear about that - assuming you paid by credit card and assuming you did contact the merchant, your next step is to contact your credit card issuer and open a dispute.   There should be a number on the back of the card (some credit cards allow you to submit disputes online or by mail).   Note, depending on the issuer or bank, there can be time limits for filing a dispute - anywhere from 60 to 90 days.

hopefully, you paid by credit card.  If so you can file a dispute with your credit card and give them the info of the correct amount and that you have tried to resolve this with the merchant.
