More Barcode Scanner Compatible

I am wondering if there is any thought about making more hardware compatible with square.  Specifically more wireless barcode readers.  I did try one with my Ipad which is compatible with the ipad and will even work with square in some instances, but it would not let me scan in items for sale, nor did it let me scan in inventory items when doing receiving or inventory counts.  However, if I opened the search window where you would type something at, I could then scan the barcode and it would work there.  So I am not sure why it does not work to just scan at the checkout screen or on the inventory screens.  Looking for less expensive options for both the ipad and for the square register.  While the $230 bluetooth scanner for the ipad may be a solid piece of equipment, I find it crazy it is the ONLY choice, and that there is no choice for the square register

I have been using the Zebra/Motorola symbol ds6878-sr 2d wireless scanner. Currently this is $50 used to about $200.  This model has been discontinued and has other replacements from Zebra.  The DS6878 is a 2D wireless / wired type scanner, meaning it is USB to a base then wireless from the Scanner to the Base.  I had the Zebra 2200 model which was only corded from the Square Hub USB port to the scanner and that was a pain.   I love the DS6878 2D scanner and it has great range from the counter (Base)..... 30 feet or so.  I bought mine refurbished 3 years ago on Amazon for about $80.  I tried a cheaper Terra scanner and that did not work at all with my Square Stand.  If you find a manufacturer of a Scanner and can find one from that manufacturer that works with Square, I recommend ordering or trying one that you can return.  So if it does not work you can return it.  I asked the seller on Amazon if it worked with Square, and was told they did not know, but they had a return policy which is why I tried it to get rid of the cord.  Mine worked fine so I ordered 2 more from the seller.

The newer Zebra that is similar to mine and 2D is about $250 on Amazon and anywhere up to over $700 which is CRAZY!!!
