Looking for a summary (total count) of transactions (aka payments) by day for sales reporting?
I'm looking for a summary (total count) of transactions (aka payments) by day for reporting. I would have thought it would be included in the Sales Summary report.
I'm looking to have the sales summary, by month, to include daily total transaction count.
I don't need a complete listing of every transaction. I need a total - by day. The Sales Summary report you would think include such. It has a data field for Payments but that does not export data to .csv file.
I understand I could download every transaction for a day, date range. However that's not useful and I shouldn't have to write a pivot table or otherwise aggregate all that data and then import or combine it into the sales summary report to get a daily transaction (aka payment) total number.
The information is there. If you hover over a monthly sales report by day it will show you the number of payments. However that number doesn't download with the CSV file. It doesn't indicate the that transaction/payment data in the online report when it displays nor in the .csv file when downloaded.

Hello @abird the information on how many payments/transactions happened per day will be found in the Payment Methods Report. This found two reports down from the left side navigation. Once there you will be able to filter by day/month/year and also by type of payment.
I hope this information is helpful!
