Latest Square Register update problems

I have the square register and have been using the new look version of the software. There was an automatic update yesterday and every since it has run EXTREMELY slow and has randomly restarted in the middle of a transaction. I have reached out to customer service already with an email, but was curious if others are having the same issues?

Hi Chaos_Emporium,

 

There was another post from someone who was experiencing an issue whereas the screen went dark then displayed the Square Logo - they were also using the new interface.  I believe the new interface is still considered beta phase at this point.  Have you tried reverting back to other interface?   Just a thought.

Our barcode scanner and credit card reader do not work most of the time now  They keep disconnecting.  The barcode scanner does not always read or enter the barcode correctly.  Odd things may happen in the middle of a transaction.  All these things started with the latest update.  And naturally we were unaware of any update.  One POS changed in the middle of the day and then our other one changed the next day.  

 

You can go back to the old version, by going to settings.

Same problem here since the latest square update in late September (I believe?). I am using an iPad air with  almost nothing on it and 90% of the memory capacity is available. Yet still (every day) the screen blacks out if you tap the "more" button at the bottom of the screen and then you have to wait for the app to reload. There ore other times when it just freezes up and you have to restart the app. Ive even considered looking for another POS platform. 😞
