Is there a way to steer my QBO invoice customers to pay with Square instead of Quickbooks Payments?
The process of invoicing a customer through QBO is very easy. I do this from my QBO phone app. But the entire QBO system is geared toward settlement through their own merchant service, which is very expensive, and QBO doesn't allow any other merchant service for invoice settlement. Is there an easy way that I can provide a way for settlement through Square on app-sent invoices? I am thinking: what if I could provide a link in the emailed invoice to a Square page that has the customer enter the amount and the invoice number and their credit card number. After the charge goes through, I would receive a notification so that I can then manually apply the payment to the invoice. My volume is low enough so that doing these manual steps isn't a burden.

Hey @Service! I want to make sure I'm understanding what exactly it is that you're wanting to do here.
From what I'm reading, I'm under the impression that you are wanting to use Square for your invoicing instead of Quickbooks... is that correct?
We have the ability for you to send invoices to your customers that would allow them to enter in their credit card information.
Or are you wanting to send the invoice first through Quickbooks, then have your customers pay it through Square and have them reference the Quickbooks invoice number?
Sorry for all the questions! I want to make sure I'm getting you the answer you're looking for!

I want to come up with a really easy way to steer customers onto Square and away form Quickbooks Payments when sending invoices through the QBO phone app. I do not want the hassle of also sending a Square invoice. All I can think of is a note in the email that includes the invoice that says something like "Instead of clicking the Quickbooks link to pay, please go to www.Squarexxx.com and enter your invoice number and amount, and settle with your credit card."

You can definitely add the manually shared link to pay in Square instead. If memory serves me, I thought QBO gave you the option to disable their payment service? It's been about 2 years since I used it, so forgive me but I thought that was something that could be chosen,
If not, manually sending the link would be your best bet - and you are welcome to include that in your QBO notes area.
This link should explain how to create a external link to your invoice.
