I want to see individual transactions when searching through an item report!
It would be very useful and time saving if you can find a transaction when running an item report. For example...
Today I wanted to see a list of customers that we signed up for a class to make sure we got payment from everyone attending the class. So I ran a report on that class item and all I get is a total amount sold and dollar amount, and no way of going further from there. When we used Quickbooks POS we can go to an item and get CLICKABLE links that will take us to individual transactions that were made with that item.
With that feature in Quickbooks we can quickly research the sale of an item, withough having to guess the customer that bought it and when they purchased it. This is also very useful for any other item that we have for sale here. For example, I want to see who bought a bunch of a paticular picture frame so that I can possible contact them later about that item. Can't do that with the reports available right now. I belive I posted about this quite some time ago with no solution yet.
It seems very easy to add and believe this should be a no brainer, core feature in square reports. We need to be able to look up an item and go to individual transactions from there. No exporting to a spread sheet and no printing out tons of paper just to keep a record of it.
Please start taking these requests seriously if you want to further push the use of your Square Register system that we pay dearly for. We really enjoyed these features in Quickbooks POS.

Hey @blacklabimaging, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with this. I'll be sure to raise your post with our Point of Sale Team and point out that being able to access individual transactions from the Item Sales tab directly would help streamline your workflow.
If I may, I'd like to suggest a workaround that would help surface the information you need. If you have Excel or Numbers on your computer, you can set the appropriate date range and download the Item Detail CSV. Once you open up the file on your computer, you can then sort the transactions by the Item column. After that, you'll be able to refer to the Customer Name column to verify which customers paid for the class during that time period.
I realize that this workaround still involves exporting to a spreadsheet, but I hope these steps help access the information you need to plan for your classes.
We will announce any updates related to this request and circle back to this thread with any other developments that may help simplify.

Creating a spreadsheet in the middle of the day to find something we need to know about in minutes is just insane. We pay a lot to Square in subscription fees and processing fees to have a robust and fully functioning inventory system that we can use to track basic things.
Please get this added into the system. No workarounds.

I agree... It seems so elementary to be able to see each transaction on a day without creating a spreadsheet. Why not?
