How to clear data cache on ipad?
Hi, all.
We’re having some trouble with our POS at a cafe. We’re running it on an up-to-date ipad, and it has completely filled the device’s storage capacity (roughly 20gb). I can’t seem to find anything about this anywhere else.
I’m pretty Apple-savy, but I can’t find anything in the device’s or the app’s settings for clearing out some data. We’ve had the app for a while now, and I’m guessing that we’ve just accumulated too much data through usage, but we have no clue of how to clear it out, and the digital assistant was of no help.
So far, we’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, updated everything, and cleared up about 2gb of space from other apps (only to have Square fill it up in less than 24 hours).
Any help is appreciated!

Not sure if this is what you were looking for but scroll down to Delete Unwanted App Data. Because when I look for clearing Cache it just shows how to do it for Safari on an Ipad.

We are experiencing the same issue of the iPad running out of storage after a while using Square POS. It seems this data isn't necessary as deleting the app and reinstalling resolves the issue, but only temporarily and also it is a pain because we need to setup the printers again. Square POS needs to implement some type of automated maintenance cleanup. Having to delete the app and reinstalling it is not a long term solution.

Hey there.
Thanks for posting that link. However, in Square’s ipad-settings (by that I mean going into the ipad’s settings, and then selecting ‘Square’), I don’t see an option for clearing the cache. I’m familiar with that feature being available for most apps, so I did think to look there. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything of the sort.

I am not an Ipad or Apple user except for my Stand from Square. I have not had this issue yet and I have been using my Ipad Stand for 2 years. I saw this and thought it might help you now, and me in the future....guess not. Your welcome for me posting the link that does not help.
I just checked my Android phone and the 'clear cache' is there for the Square app. Now I will have to dig in to this to see how to do this on my Ipad....time to get my Ipad technician to look into this.....ie my 12 year old son LOL

Not sure if this will help - went through the Ipad settings and found this 'Off Load App' ??
Why are Apple Products so difficult to do routine things??
Anyway on the Ipad
I chose:
Settings-General-Ipad Storage- Square-Off Load App.
Now my storage currently was very little so I could not tell what this did.
hope this works for you.
