How can I refund a gift purchase back to the recipient, rather than to the original buyer?
The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: "How can I refund a gift to the recipient rather than to the original purchaser?"
We have many people who purchase our items as gifts. Some with cash (no problem here), but most with credit cards. We would like to be able to have the recipient refund the item and give them cash back.
Unfortunately, the only option seems to be to issue the refund to the original purchaser's credit card.
Is the only other option to issue a gift card?

Hi @Art883 I would suggest refunding it to a gift card for the "Recipient". This way they don't lose the purchase amount and can still shop with you! The only other options would be to issue a "Cash" Refund if I am thinking correctly.
