Hi,

Iโ€™m Holly and Iโ€™m an independent salon suite owner. I have been independent and using square for over 7 years and appointments the past 3 years. I love being able to provide feedback and hoping the developers and their teams will be taking a look at our requests. I would love to see three big items in the appointments app be become new features. I missed out on being able to provide feedback last month.

Hi.  My name is Cheryl S. and I started using Square when I became a representative for Senegence Int'l; a quality skincare and cosmetic company.  I have recently become associated with 2 more business; Trades of Hope and Bella Hoot.  All 3 business have a goal to help women in some way and each has products that women love.  Therefore, I've recently decided to re-brand from LITH Lips n More to Cheryl Ann's Gift Shop.

I came to the Seller Community to find out how I can best utilize Square for my at-home business as a consultant for all 3 company's, and I'm looking forward to any help that the community can offer.  I would love to be able to have a place where I can pull all 3 company's into 1 website, where product information for each company can be displayed, where people can purchase gift cards as a gift option and where any stock I have can be sold.

I would also love to connect with peers who are in the same situation and find out their best marketing strategies, and attend educational events (when not working) about how Square can help me and learn about any new features.

Roll out of the new website will be April or May, and so I'm looking forward to building my brand with Square in 2022.

Hello Everyone,

My Name is Connie, My Store is Varrs Creative Endeavors in Clyde, NY.   I have been using Square since Nov 2021.  I absolutely love the product.  It was extremely easy to set up and every time I have a question, I can call in and get an answer.

What I would like to see from the community and from Square is a continuation of what is already happening and I am hoping they always keep the communication top notch.

Thank You Square!

Connie

Hi, my name is Kate, and I am the owner of Kate Watts Hair.  I started using Square in 2015. I became part of the sellers community to keep informed on any bugs or changes, along with the hopes of helping others through any issues they may be experiencing.  I like the community, and I would utilize it more, if I was able to get to it easier, especially if there was a link or access through the app.

Was sent a PM to participate in this, but I'm based in Australia so ineligible. In addition to this instance, there are many occasions where the divide between US/other is confusing.

Although the Square support team is largely helpful, self reliance on these forums is usually the most efficient source of information. However, the regional differences do mean inaccurate information, such as product features that are available in the US but are frustratingly not in Australia. Understandably, this maybe because of uncontrollable factors (i.e. legal restrictions) but I hope Square can understand the problems this causes us.

Hi, I am Yesenia with Uptown Girl Studio & Beauty Center. I started my business 11 years ago and have been using Square the whole time. It has been a great asset

for me and my business. Iโ€™m most excited to use the retail portion since I will now be selling my own products. Iโ€™ve viewed some of the features offered and am confident it will be easy to check out my clients and have a smooth transaction.

Hi, My name is Natalie and I am the Owner and a hairstylist at Rustic Beauty in the South Hills of Pittsburgh PA!  I have owned my salon for 1 1/2 years.  I chose square because of their benefits that they offer to all platforms of businesses.  While there are definitely a ton of benefits to having square as a salon owner, there is some things that do need help.  Such as banning clients that abuse the cancellation and online booking processes.  Other booking platforms have this option.  I really do love Square though and haven't left because of all the features they provide.

Hi!

Initially I joined the forums to troubleshoot my new terminal (It beeps really loudly even though the sound is โ€œoff.โ€ I have cotton balls taped over all the holes to muffle it to a reasonable volume. Support was unable to help.)

I was invited to join some discussions about how we use Square, and found them surprisingly helpful. As a sole proprietor with no employees, I am working in somewhat of a vacuum. Itโ€™s nice to see other peoplesโ€™ approaches. For example, the discussions about assessing success, planning for the future, even the talks about loans were interesting. They helped me to stop and think about the way I run my business, which I havenโ€™t really done for the past 10 years. Very useful!

Hi I'm Shelyn. I own a women's clothing and gift boutique in rural NY. My business has gone through MANY changes in it's four years but my constant has always been Square. I started it first on my phone at vendor events and pop ups, then carried it forwarded and continued to upgrade and improve as I went from small B&M, to medium B&M, to my current large B&M where I now utilize Square for retail. I have joined the community to be able to assist anyone I can with my knowledge and experience, tips and tricks as to gain knowledge from others. I also joined so that I may troubleshoot either by asking myself or seeing if someone has had similar and a resolution. I was glad I've stayed through the duration for Commentsold integration as that is a huge game changer.  I'm now patiently (or not so patiently lol) awaiting AfterPay - this will make a huge impact.

Hello!  Iโ€™m Robin from MooVille Cookies & Cream. We are a dessert food truck specializing in home made ice cream sandwiches. I joined the seller community to get answers to questions that others  may also have, instead of calling in and getting personalized help.

i would like to see square get some actual customer service...which is non-existent and leads me to believe that square is not in it for their customers. Square communication is zero and there is no one to help with any problems that pertain to the cbd program. i believe square is doing this on purpose as there is no other explanation for the serious lack of any human to help with anything. I like how square pawns off customer service through their community platform so they dont have take blame for lack of any customer service. There is no one to actually talk to EVER. the phone number is bunk, goes around and around. Square is taking my businesses money as hostage and will not release it for no other explanation other than being a bad business. how does one get accepted into a program and accounts still frozen after months. Square is responsible for putting a lot of business in the hole without access to their LEGAL money! SQUARE IF YOUR LISTENING, RELEASE MY MONEY FROM MY LEGAL BUSINESS IN A PROGRAM I WAS ACCEPTED INTO! It is such a joke the way square operates their business.

Hello Oliveโ€™

Iโ€™m Sue Beck, owner of The Lemonade Art Gallery in Washington, NC.  In 2015, the gallery opened with 5 partners (4 have since moved away or retired) and used Square from day 1.  As we grew, we started using more of the things that Square offers, with a huge amount of questions and help from Square, both on the phone and help online.  We started an E-Commerce website through Weebly during the time we were closed due to COVID, and once again were given endless help and support from Square.  Having Square and Weebly connected made setting up , and running the website so much easier.  Itโ€™s been a huge learning experience from the beginning and I look forward to continuing to learn about more services and integrations that are offered by Square.

Hello, Iโ€™m  Randy and owner of Korieโ€™s Kloset. We have been in business since 1985. We have been with Square since they started and have seen a lot of growth with the platform. One thing I would like to see in the community and on the platform is more mobile compatibility. We run 2 square registers, but we want to have our employees to have iPhones on the floor to ring people up instantly cashless. What I mean is more integration on the iPhone mobile app that turns the camera into a barcode scanner. I would like to see better inventory integration also. A lot of people use either an iPhone or android phone as their only register. A new forum just for that would bring tons of information and requests that could only make the app better.

Hello there! Iโ€™m Joshua James, owner of Ocean Beach Cafe! Opened 1 year ago to build the Largest Non Alcoholic Beverage selection in the Country here in SF. I went from $0 sales in 2020 to $450k in 2021 through that Square Register!
Iโ€™d love to know more, and share more Business Hacks from the community. For example: thereโ€™s a separate โ€œcafe sales taxโ€ structure that saved me thousands. I can legally charge the customer for transaction fees for a potential $12k in savings in 1 year.
I liked the โ€œfollow for followโ€ post to engage community! I liked how the square community went from a far aside thought to something that I could actually think about using to share in this sharing economy, and learn how to do things even better in this super tough Cafe Game!

Hi Joshua!  I would like to know where you found that info? I tried once before but seems like that increased the transaction fee. Please share!

Hello!

My Name is Samantha and I am a born and local Wilmington, Nc beauty boss!

I started my Salon suite journey after 13 years in a salon with glossgenius, because that was what was told I should do. I found Square on my own and found how easy it was, and how quickly I could invoice, generate gift cards and send Bridal contracts/invoices in a snap. It always look clean and professional. I do wish that Square would consider working capital to those who have paid off two before and would like to expand their business more after the beauty industry did and still continues to take a hit with Covid. At least someone that could help locate the reasons why you are ineligible so that you could become again- instead of playing the waiting game. I speak for myself when I say that money could improve my sales with product buy, but sometimes with cancellations due to covid we have to tuck away that money in case.

Hi guys, I'm Dan, founder of Super Nice Coffee and Bakery in Manhattan (NYC). We're a specialty coffee shop and Bakery (mostly a donut shop, now) and have been using Square since we opened in 2019.

I joined the Seller Community because I thought it would be a good place to learn about best practices, features, and general selling ideas both from other merchants and from Square itself. Easily the most significant thing to come out of my participation was learning about order-ahead, which, with the help of the community here, we were able to successfully implement.

Hi. Denise here from Sugar and Bake, a custom wedding cake and bakery business in Texas. although we can search posts by key word, I would like to see questions categorized by business type. By word search only I feel I am missing posts similar to my business type (bakery). So categorizing topics by business type would be helpful.
Another helpful thing to add to the seller community is the ability to post a picture to help show and explain a question we might have while using Square, setup, site design, etc. Just being able to share a screenshot would be helpful.

Thanks

Greetings! It's good to have an opportunity to put my two cents in when you need opinions regarding the Seller Community.

When the review of our websites was offered, I thought "Wow! That's great of Square to hire a tech person to review EACH of

our sites and give critiques on how we could optimize them!" Little did I know it would be US doing the critiques! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Honestly, that bit of miscommunication could have been clear, but aside from that, the future seems bright.
