Do you also charge the customer for the purchase of the card for the gift card ?
I am looking into buying plastic gift cards. My business is small and not sure how many I may sell. My question is do you also charge a fee for the gift card. I will end up paying up to $2.00 per card this could be very pricey for me.

I would say definitely no, do not charge for the card. you can use them again when their value is used up when a customer comes back in. But I would say there isn't a place that sells gift cards that charges for them. You are getting an unsecured loan from the customer days, weeks or months ahead of an actual purchase.
