Card Reader or Tablet not Recognised

Despite working fine pre the latest lockdown (June 2021) our card reader will now not link to our tablet.

We were (still are) using a 'Lenovo Tab M10 HD'

Card Reader is 'SPC1-01' SN: 002LS14802008295

When we go to 'connect' the reader the tablet first says 'Reader Connected' (in a black square) . . then a full page says "Device Not Supported"

How can our device that worked previously become 'not supported'?

Do we have to buy a new tablet?

Cheers

CS

Hi @nepeeanhistsoc,

Thanks for reaching back out and sorry to hear about the trouble!

It looks like the Lenovo Tab M10 is listed as a compatible device with the Square Reader on our list. Have you recently enabled developer options on your tablet, or installed any apps that allow screen recording, or change the way the tablet looks?

Hi Arie,

We haven't altered the tablet since June when the reader worked perfectly.

Cheers

Clive

ps the reader works fine with my Samsung tablet (but that is not usable for our stalls)

Facing the same issue here, I'm using a Lenovo TB7306F.

Any help would be greatly appreciated please. I can't see this exact model on your comparability page. Could you provide feedback please?

Hey @TattsCC,

Thanks for sharing this feedback and welcome to our seller community!

It looks like the Lenovo TB7306F isn't a tested device with the Square Reader. While some untested devices can still connect to the Square Reader, we can only guarantee compatibility for listed devices. We strive to support as many devices as possible, but with hundreds of new devices coming out each year, we're not always able to test every model. You can still give these troubleshooting steps a try if you haven't already and please let us know if there's any particular error message you're seeing when trying to connect the reader, as there might be some other troubleshooting steps we can suggest.
