Can you change the rate of an item in the ticket?

We sell propane by the pound and have various rates for different types of customers. We also have discounts that may be applied to tickets. Is there a way to change the rate of an item in the ticket (even if you have the item set at a certain rate in your item list)?

If you have a price entered for the item, you cannot change it on the Point of Sale.

There are a few ways to work around this for your situation:

-Leave the item price blank. Each time you ring up that item Square will ask you for the price.

-Use A Price per Weight option. You'll get a prompt for how much the item weighs and Square will then figure out the price.

-For clients with differing pricing, you could add options to the item. When you ring up the item you'll be prompted for the correct price point. This works with the weight option as well.

-You can always add discounts that can be applied to each item as needed as well.
