Can a USB connection with the Square Dock be used on an Android device instead of Bluetooth?
I discovered that the Bluetooth connection of the reader/dock combination fails in a noisy Bluetooth environment. I mean hundreds of phones in close proximity.
Can the USB connection of the Dock be used to connect to the Android app and avoid Bluetooth? It would be so much simpler if this can work.
Adding, this was bar where our nonprofit was operating a coat check. I noticed that even the bar's handheld POS terminals were failing frustrating the bartenders. So, for what it was worth, we were not alone with the RF interference problem.

I'll second this, bluetooth might be ok in a boot marketplace, but its useless in many retail environments or any really busy places where there are hundreds/thousands of phones swamping the bluetooth environment- they 'had' the old headphone jack but that seems to not be available anymore- I looked at the dock, but that seems according to the info on their site, only for charging, and doesn't send the data through the USB
