How is your Vision? How did you do this year sticking to your vision and mission as a business?

It is the end of the year which typically means we are already looking to the next. We evaluate the goals we missed or want to achieve in 2025.

Now that we are in December we figured we would ask the question, How is your vision?

No, not because you may need your eyes checked (although you should get that check up because you can't replace those?)

How did you do this year sticking to your vision and mission as a business?

Did you stray a little out of desperation or slow days?

Did you create new goals?

We always have to ask ourselves this!

This year we definitely had to visit vision often in opening a new space. We realized we were in survival mom for half the year and kind of missed the mark in some areas. We forgot about having more community nights. We were "busy". Which is probably true! But were we busy doing things that mattered? Not always.

How about you?

GREAT question @Lovewell !

For me, 2024's vision was quite literally to be around to see 2025. It was a recovery year for me, with my cafe closing in late 2023. I took the coffee roasterie aspect of the cafe and spun it into its own thing, did the farmers market circuit for the summer, found a new brick and mortar, and rebuilt my clientele.

Because I'm only one person who had to get a "real job" to keep a roof over my head, my vision of what I want the roasterie to be and how to best implement it slowed to a trickle. Once the holiday season is over (oh how I wish I could have the sales volume of December in the other 11 months!) I plan on implementing a weekly task list of things to start to really grow my business. It'll never be the volume of the former cafe, but I think I can eke out a living and grow the business into something that's cohesive, streamlined, and profitable.

A checklist is a great idea.  I'm grabbing that idea from you.  This year, there was a huge growth in sales numbers for me after I had recovered from the natural disasters of 23/24.  I want to focus on a new location and lowering my overhead while still growing my memberships in the spa.  A checklist would help so much with keeping on task and accountable.  When we are a solo business it is easy to let things slide.

I feel like I did great.  That finance money book Profit First we read in the book club was such a game changer for me this year!  2025 I'm working on lowering my overhead costs a bit more.

This is AWESOME to hear! We read profit first a couple years ago and it changed the game for us.
