How do you keep your Menu Fresh & Updated?

Hey Foodie Friends!

Here's another Question for ya to pick your brain and inspire some other folks.

Keeping things fresh and fun is always important, and bringing in new items can reinvigorate your menu and keep your customers coming back.

How do you keep your Menu fresh & changing?

Do you do Weekly or Monthly Specials?

Do you do anything fun for holiday seasons?

Do you rotate things through and keep popular items as standards, or is it always something new?

What have been your most popular items?

How do you promote your new things?

How do you keep track of what works and what doesn't?

Looking forward to hearing what works for you!

Thanks @theburgercave !

Absolutely! Keeping things limited and making great specials is a great way to do things -- and keeping up with demand and making things special order when requested is a great way to keep customers happy and coming back.

Very cool all around - thanks for sharing!

we are a C-Store with a full Deli. So our food items for the most part stay the same but other items in the store change around from time to time . We also offer a meat and 3 once a week along with burgers fries chicken strips and other sandwiches and Pizzas and wings .

Thanks for sharing, @OwensMarket !

That's so great that you still find a way to switch things up and offer new fun things - I'm sure your customers appreciate it!

We did away with vendors to save money  when Covid hit and buying direct every day.  Staples such as milk, alt milks, eggs, etc are from the bulk discount store.  Veggies, cheeses etc are from one of several supermarkets or farmers met at Farmer Markets.  Our "Specials" are when we come across a deal such as avos, salsas, chips, cheeses etc.  We can offer them at reasonable prices, still make our margins, and they sell at a good pace.

Buying direct allows us to find those good price deals, we hand select everything for highest quality, and we cut out the vendor markup.  Yes...its a hassle going out every day( or other day) but we market that.  Folks know whatever we serve, it's fresh.  Sales have increased, returnees increased, and costs decreased ( buying every day means we don't carry huge inventories of perishables and our waste factor is Rock bottom low)

Covid hitting as it did opened up a whole new way of doing things.  We won't be going back to vendor purchasing.

Wow @AnnaB - that's huge to be able to cut out the middleman and save some money there!
It sounds like a bunch more work and time, but that's great that it's what makes your business what it is, differentiates you from the rest, and that your customers go to you because of that. The increase in quality and vibes definitely sounds worth it!

Way to rock!

@AnnaB, you've got some serious effort in your new routine! Love the passion you put into it and the reward you've seen in response. I've admired folks that can sustain a model like this, in our small town it's hard to get the volume to make it work. You've got a great commitment to quality and variety with the ability to be nimble based on what's available rather than a static menu. Qudos!

Take care of yourself and, as life provides, someone else too.
