Ticket Times and ASAP orders

We are a little pizza shop and we use the square online system for delivery and collection orders through our website. It's brilliant and the order timing is very handy. 

 

However

 

Is there a way of displaying on the tickets when a customer wants their order ASAP?

When we are busy, the system obviously gives an alloted time frame for us to send the order. That's brilliant and it's good when customers want to schedule an order for a later time. 

 

The issue we have is that when we are ahead of schedule, we have no indication that a customer has selected an ASAP delivery/collection and we have to manually go through our upcoming orders to contact the customer and ask if they're happy for us to send it earlier than the time slot. 

Is there a way of the ticket that's printed to show they want it as soon as possible without the customer having to be instructed to put it in the notes?

Hi @DoughBros, thank you for raising this (and welcome to the Seller Community)!

 

From looking into this, the expected behaviour is that ASAP orders will printed out immediately whenever they come in while orders scheduled ahead will print out whenever the prep time length was set.

 

In this case, are you looking for ASAP order to show ASAP on the printed tickets and the app, rather than the timeslot the system has calculated when the order was placed?

 

If you can give me a bit more details on your setup (are you using the standard Square Point of Sale app with a printer, or are you using Square KDS to display tickets), I can definitely have a further look and see if there's a way to setup it like how you wanted.

Hello there,

 

I am using the full square terminal system with a printer. We don't use KDS. 

 

Yeah I'm just wondering if there's a way of showing on the tickets that it's an ASAP order without having to do any sort of thinking or figuring out. When we are busy, it would be a huge help to have it displayed instead of showing a time slot. The time slots are really handy, however, as we do have lots of customers that use that feature.

I think it's currently a feature request to have the timeslot displayed as ASAP rather than being translated to a time on the printed ticket at the moment, but let me double-check with the Product team and follow up with you @DoughBros!
